Hindeloopen (Hylpen)

Wooden bridges above narrow canals give Hindeloopen its characteristic atmosphere. During the glorious seventeenth and eighteenth centuries this city was trading successfully with Norway, Russia and the Baltic Sea countries. Thanks to the benefits of this trading, Hindeloopen became the centre of interior designs and painting. In the former city hall the museum of Hidde Nijland Stichting is located, where you can find the typical aspects of culture in Hindeloopen.

You can find anchorages at the Indijk, near to the Indijkbrug, and at the Noorder Dijkvaart. If you don’t know this region, navigate from the IJsselmeer to buoy H2W1 of Workum. In order to reach Hindeloopen, follow the red line on your port side to the south.
